The Sacrament of Anointing the Sick

Celebrated bi-annually after Easter and after Pentecost
Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of healing. The celebration of this sacrament consists in the anointing of the sick person's forehead and hands, accompanied by the liturgical prayer of the priest asking for the special grace of the sacrament to strengthen and bring courage and peace to the afflicted.
