Religious Education, Children
Sunday School, 9 AM (Grades K-8)
We start with a welcoming song in church followed by a brief prayer service to familiarize the child and
his/her family with the liturgy and the traditions of our faith. The short liturgical prayer service
is not a substitute for the regular Mass, but an instructional worship aid, often accompanied with a
kid-friendly picture book geared to younger children and their parents.
We welcome and encourage our parish families to participate in our program and become active members
of the OLM community. We share the "Good News" with our students and their families in our liturgical prayer service
held nearly every Sunday, 9:00-9:15 AM in the church. We invite all who gather with us on the faith journey to help transform
their lives, enabling and enriching them with hope and challenge. We encourage family participation in all of our endeavors.
The catechesis is a lifelong process and we strive to build a community of worshiping believers, schooled in the doctrine
of our faith.
We facilitate personal growth among catechists, students and parents with special events during the school year:
a Rosary devotional prayer service, an All Saints Mass, Advent and Christmas activities, Lenten services
including Stations of the Cross.
After the short liturgical prayer at 9 AM, Religious Education classes begin at 9:15 AM.
