Back in the early '40s, the late Monsignor Conneally of St. Monica's
Church in Santa Monica said the first Mass in the Malibu Courthouse.
This was the locale for Catholic services until 1950, when Father
Daniel Gallagher, who a few years before had been appointed first
Pastor of Malibu and Topanga, celebrated the first Mass in the present
Church of Our Lady of Malibu.

Under the direction of the present Pastor, the Parish Rectory and
Recreation Room were added.
In the centuries-old tradition of the Catholic Church, the program
for our parish school is now being developed, that soom we of The
Malibu may fulfill our responsibilities to those of God's little
ones who are entrusted to our care.
